Ecrins National Park

The Ecrins national park, one of the largest in France, was created in 1973 and covers an high mountain territory including mythical summits such as the Meije, the Barre des Ecrins and the Pelvoux.

National parks are protected areas of outstanding beauty and have a role of preservation, conservation and research as well as promotion of this natural and cultural heritage through visitors center.

The Ecrins national park tries to preserve a quality environment for future generations. It is a living and fragile eco-system. Fauna and flora deserve our respect.

 

Whilst staying in our gite, we will be happy to give you some information about hikes and mountain biking or cycling routes and recommend mountain leaders and guides. You may want to take part in our residential courses such as our “Wolf trekking week”.
